“4jetpacks4” is the first project of Georg Janick/Gary Zabel’s  “Theses on the Art of Virtual Worlds” Caerleon artist collaborations.

“4jetpacks4” illustrates Immersion.

“Immersion is the experience of being enveloped by a surrounding environment, by what the Germans call an Umwelt. Without immersion there would be no virtual worldhood at all, but rather reception of an image external to the viewer. “

The first in a series of machinima for the Virtual Art Initiative documenting a collaborative exploration of the fundamental dimensions that make the art of virtual worlds a unique aesthetic medium.

4Jetpacks4 was an immersive interactive story telling performance in Second Life by Bryn Oh, Glyph Graves, and Nonnatus Korhonen, that explored the first dimension – immersion.
